C-LIGHT CAT5 LAN Cable (Category 5 Ethernet cable) is a basic twisted-pair cable supporting 100 Mbps speeds and 100 MHz bandwidth over distances up to 100 meters. Utilizing an unshielded (UTP) design with four twisted pairs without separators, it complies with TIA-568 standards and RJ45 connectors, primarily used for Fast Ethernet (100BASE-TX), legacy telephone systems (POTS), and early LAN cabling. While cost-effective and easy to install, CAT5 suffers from limited crosstalk suppression, making it unstable for Gigabit speeds (possible only over short distances with compatible hardware). Largely replaced by CAT5e, it remains in low-bandwidth or legacy network upgrades, suitable for budget-conscious simple networks.
